Clinic Information

Clinic Information:

Students requesting to go home for medical issues need to be assessed by the nurse.  Parents will be contacted directly by the Nurse or nurse’s assistant if medically necessary to go home.  Students being sent home by the Nurse, must be picked up and signed out in the clinic.

CDC, HCPHES, and Cy-Fair ISD guidelines for students with illness are:
All students with fever of 100.0 degrees or greater must stay home until fever free for 24hrs without taking fever reducing medication like aspirin, Tylenol, or ibuprofen.  Students must check in with the nurse’s office for temperature check when returning to school.

District Policy states that students are not allowed to carry or bring medication to school. All medication must be brought in the original container to the clinic by a parent or adult. Parents must fill out a permission form to administer medication in the clinic.

Antibiotics and similar medications ordered 1-3 times daily can usually be given at home. Medications given 4 times a day can be given at lunch if original container is received in the clinic and a parent permission form is filled out.

Inhalers and Epi-pens are allowed to be carried by students only after the Physician self-administration medication form has been turned in to the nurse. A new Physician form must be turned in to the clinic at the beginning of each school year.
