The Cypress Ranch Mustangs clinched the District 17-6A championship, and will face Bellaire in the Region III-6A Division I bi-district playoffs on Nov. 11.

Nov. 5, 2016—The District 17-6A football season wrapped up on Nov. 5, with Cypress Ranch High School completing a 9-0 undefeated record to clinch its second straight district championship.

Cy-Fair (8-1) was the runner-up, Cypress Ridge (7-2) was third and Langham Creek (6-3) placed fourth, allowing all three to advance with the Mustangs to the UIL playoffs.

The Cy-Fair Bobcats will meet Lamar in the Region III-6A Division I bi-district playoffs on Nov. 11.

Cypress Ranch and Cy-Fair, representing the two largest school enrollments, will participate in the Class 6A Division I bracket. Cypress Ridge and Langham Creek will compete in Division II.

The following bi-district playoff matchups are set for next week:

  • Cypress Ranch will play Bellaire on Friday, Nov. 11 at 7:30 p.m. at Cy-Fair FCU Stadium (8877 Barker Cypress Road);
  • Cy-Fair will meet Lamar on Nov. 11 at 7 p.m., at Houston ISD’s Delmar Stadium (1900 Mangum Road);
  • Cypress Ridge will face Westside on Nov. 11 at 7 p.m. at Ken Pridgeon Stadium (11499 Bobcat Road); and
  • Langham Creek will clash with Heights on Nov. 10 at 7 p.m. at Delmar Stadium.

Trelon Smith (22), Kevin LeDee (12) and the Cypress Ridge Rams will face Westside in the Region III-6A Division II bi-district playoffs on Nov. 11.

Pre-sale tickets for all games will be sold for $7 (adults reserved and general admission) and $5 (students) apiece, while tickets at the gate will be sold for $10 apiece.

For the Cypress Ranch and Cypress Ridge home playoff games, season ticket holders can repurchase their season ticket seats beginning on Monday, Nov. 7 at 8 a.m. through 11:59 pm. on Tuesday. Additional available reserved and general admission seats may be purchased beginning Wednesday morning at 8 a.m.

Praise Okorie (5) and the Langham Creek Lobos will battle Heights in the Region III-6A Division II bi-district playoffs on Nov. 10.

For Cy-Fair and Langham Creek’s away playoff games at Delmar Stadium, online general admission ticket sales will be available beginning on Nov. 7 at 8 a.m. for the entire community. No reserved tickets are available for these two games. 

Tickets may be purchased online at or at the athletic office in the Berry Center. All presale ticket sales for each game will but off at 2 p.m. on the day of the game.
